- You will be charged to replace lost tackle
- Fishing gear is not reserved ahead of time. Just let us know when you check in and we'll get you all set up!
Be Prepared
Ross Lake is a BIG lake with LOTS of wind. The weather can change quickly and without warning. Each week we have to assist/rescue multiple canoes/kayaks who get into distress on the lake. Please remember these key safety reminders:

There is no restaurant or store on-site

Do not overload your vessel

Paddle early in the day to minimize wind exposure

Wear your life jacket

Do not forget, there is no cell phone coverage on Ross Lake.

Advise that you arrive before 11 AM for best lake conditions

Paddle equipment is due back to the Resort by 6 PM

No day rentals after 4 PM

Important notes about wind:

We frequently deal with high winds on the lake. When sustained winds pose a safety issue, we will stop renting canoes/kayaks/SUPs for day-use. If winds are unsafe for day users we will make all attempts to contact you before your arrival

Note that the predominant wind direction is from the south…which means your return paddle to the Resort will generally be longer and more difficult than your paddle up the lake. Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel you forfeit the $25.00 booking fee per vessel.

If you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation you can be liable for a full-day rental fee for each vessel we held for you.

Equipment Availability Calendar
Equipment Rentals
Ross Lake Resort currently rents motorboats, canoes, kayaks, SUPs, and fishing rods to cabin guests, campers, and day visitors. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis for all users (day use, campers, lodging guests). No priority is given to visitors staying at the resort. All watercraft rentals include PFDs (personal floatation devices). Scroll to the bottom to submit your equipment rental request.
* We only offer full-day rentals
* No day-use rentals on holidays or weekends
* We only guarantee a vessel type. We do not guarantee a specific vessel
(boat size, engine size, kayak or canoe type, etc.)
Your safety is our priority, we issue inventory on hand with safety & your activities planned on the lake during check-in.
We recommend arriving as early as possible to avoid potential afternoon winds! You can pick up rentals as early as 8:00 am.

Motor Boats
- 14' aluminum or wood boat with a 9.9 horsepower outboard motor (we do not reserve boat type. You will be given what's available upon your arrival)
- Maximum capacity is 700lbs (people and gear). *We reserve the right to put you in a different vessel if we determine it's unsafe when you arrive.
- Daily rate is $170.00 + tax (this includes fuel)
- Available to rent for camping and day-use
Canoe
Discovery Old Towne Canoes
- 17 feet, durable plastic with two seats and paddles
- Daily rate is $65.00 + tax
- Available to rent for camping and day-use

* You can only reserve equipment for the current operating season.
* Dog Policy: Although dogs are not permitted for overnight stays at the resort, they are permitted on our rental equipment and Water Taxi.
* Reservations are required and we recommend making them two or more weeks in advance!
