Equipment Rentals
Whether you are visiting for the day or camping overnight we rent motorboats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and fishing rods to all visitors to Ross Lake. Equipment rentals can be picked up as early as 8:00am and must be returned by 5:30pm (or dusk, whichever is earlier) on the last day of your reservation. All equipment rentals include life jackets/PFDs (personal flotation devices). Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis with no priority is given to visitors staying at the resort. Please Note:
All equipment is booked as a full-day rental (not 24 hours)
No day-use motor boat or canoe rentals Friday-Sunday or on holidays
We only guarantee equipment types, not a specific vessel (boat size, engine size, etc.)
Your safety is our priority, we issue inventory on hand with safety & your activities planned on the lake during check-in.
We recommend arriving as early as possible to avoid potential afternoon winds! You can pick up rentals as early as 8:00am.
Motor Boats
Daily rate: $190.00 + tax (this includes fuel)

*Fishing gear is not reserved ahead of time - simply let us know when you check in and we'll get you all set up!
Be Prepared

Please remember these key safety reminders:

There is no restaurant or store on-site

Paddle early in the day to minimize wind exposure

Wear your life jacket (all rental equipment includes personal flotation devices, PFDs)

There is no cell phone coverage on Ross Lake.
Important notes about wind:
Ross Lake is a BIG lake with LOTS of wind. The weather can change quickly and without warning. Each week we have to assist/rescue multiple canoes/kayaks who get into distress on the lake.

We frequently deal with high winds on the lake

If winds are unsafe for day users we will make all attempts to contact you before your arrival

When sustained winds pose a safety issue, we will stop renting canoes/kayaks/SUPs for day-use
-

The predominant wind direction is from the south, which means your return paddle to the Resort will generally be longer and more difficult than your paddle up the lake

We charge a $25 non-refundable booking fee for each vessel booked

Booking fees are applied to your final bill at the time of check-out

A $1.00 transaction fee applies to all credit card payments

Payments apply only to this reservation and are non-transferable

All processed refunds are subject to a $25 administrative fee

No-shows, late arrivals, or early departures are not eligible for refunds

Cancellations by Ross Lake Resort for extreme weather, equipment maintenance, or staffing reasons will be refunded

Expected seasonal weather, travel delays, and personal schedule changes do not qualify for refunds
